January 17, 2024
Dear James Irwin families,
I hope this letter finds you well and rejuvenated as we embark on the second half of the 2023-2024 academic year. It's a pleasure to welcome you all back to the Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥ community. Despite the chilly weather that we've been experiencing lately, the warmth of our students' enthusiasm has been a constant source of inspiration for us all. As we continue to navigate through these colder months, I'd like to remind everyone to ensure that your students are dressed warmly and appropriately for school, as we anticipate more cold weather through the spring.
I'm delighted to inform you that enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year is already in progress. We have a few openings available across most of our schools, offering an excellent opportunity for new families to join our community. Particularly, James Irwin Charter Middle School (JICMS) has substantial capacity for the upcoming year. Additionally, our skilled trades and engineering school, PTEC (grades 6-14), has recently expanded into a new facility. This expansion means we have openings in almost every grade. This is an incredible chance for students interested in fields like engineering, construction, welding, machining, manufacturing, fire science, automotive, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC to lay a strong foundation for their future careers.
I'm also thrilled to announce the opening of our newest school, James Irwin Elementary School at Canada Drive, located at 2525 Canada Drive near Marksheffel Road and Constitution Blvd. This school is a replication of our original elementary school at Astrozon Blvd and will be the third elementary school in our network. The area around the new school has seen significant growth over the past seven years, and we expect it to be a popular choice for many families.
Our schools thrive on community support, and word-of-mouth referrals are a vital part of this. I encourage you to share information about the openings in our schools with your family and friends. Not only does this help us build our community, but it also allows us to allocate more funds directly to classroom resources and student activities. Please consider following us on Facebook and sharing our news and updates with your network.
Finally, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge Mr. and Mrs. Prusinowski's decision to leave James Irwin to spend more time with their grandchildren. The Prusinowskis have been an integral part of our community for many years, and their contributions have been invaluable. We thank them sincerely for their service and wish them all the best in their future endeavors. With their departure, there will be new leadership in some key positions starting next year. Rest assured, we are actively working on these transitions and will keep you updated with any announcements, which we expect to make sometime in February.
As we move forward into the new year, I remain deeply committed to the success and well-being of each and every student in our network. Your continuous support and involvement are what make our community strong and vibrant. Thank you for being an integral part of our journey.
Warm regards,
Rob Daugherty
